Two hundred and seven years ago Scotland's foremost naval hero, Admiral Duncan won a decisive naval victory against the Dutch. Blazing glory in some of Britain's darkest days, Dundonian Admiral Duncan's brilliant tactics and gutsy heroism resulted in the tide of war being turned against the Dutch, France's allies during the early days of the French Revolutionary wars.
The Friends of Camperdown along with Dundee City Council, celebrate the life of Admiral Adam Duncan and work to preserve Camperdown House.

National Maritime Museum http://www.nmm.ac.uk/
The National Maritime Museum Greenwich
was founded by the National Maritime Museum Act in 1934 and
opened to the public in 1937. The Museum is the largest
maritime museum in the world, covering every aspect of ships
and seafaring, in peace and at war, from pre-history to today.
The collections illustrate themes of Britain and the sea,
empire and cultural interchange, sea-power, maritime
technology, exploration and navigation. The Museum also
incorporates the Royal Observatory Greenwich and the Queen's
House.
Information on the exhibitions, displays,
buildings, galleries, collections, conferences and other
activities, together with interesting facts for each of the
three Museums is available on the site. Sections within the
Museum described on the site include: the Film Archive (a
subject index of films is available on the site); Historic
Photographs and Ships Plans; the Library and Manuscripts
section (it is possible to search both the Library catalogue
and the Manuscript Collections guide); and the Picture Library
(users can search the Prints and Drawings catalogue, and view
a selection of images). The site contains the Search Station,
Collections On-Line and Maritime Art Greenwich, which allow
access to thematic highlights of the collections. The site
also includes: visitor information; educational services,
including fact files for teachers and adult education
programmes; a shopping gallery, which includes Museum
publications; details of events, including conferences and
free research seminars; the Women and the Sea Network; and
