BA Membership

Eligibility

At the specific wish of the Patron, the aim for the future is for membership to be widened so as to be as inclusive as possible for the whole officer corps of the Naval Service:

  • Any serving or retired officers of the Naval Service or their Reserve Services are eligible for membership.

  • Any wardroom victualled civilian of any nationality who has served at BRNC for a period of more than ten days is eligible for membership.

  • Any officer of a Foreign Naval Service who has served at BRNC for more than ten days are eligible for membership.

  • Naval officers widows and widowers may also be members in all categories.

Types of membership and subscriptions

There are currently 5 categories of full membership:-

  • 100 Founder life memberships a limit at any one time - replaceable only through a vacancy occurring against a one-off subscription/donation of £500 (inclusive of joining administration fee) structured as Gift Aid.

  • Endowment membership against a one off subscription of £350 inclusive of joining fee and structured as gift aid.

  • Life memberships for a one off subscription/donation of £200 (inclusive of joining administration fee) also structured as Gift Aid.

  • International officer life membership at £100 (not yet available)

  • An annual membership at a subscription of £12.85 (reduced to £10 if made by variable direct debit and as Gift Aid) - this rebate is made in recognition of saved administration costs to the Charity. Joiners under this scheme are required to pay a one-off joining fee equivalent to the first year's subscription, against which the same discount efficiency applies if structured as Gift Aid and made as part of the subscription variable direct debit (i.e. it too is then £10).
